Together, Amanda and Julie have over two decades worth of experience teaching literacy in both the classroom and intervention settings, and as instructional literacy coaches. Collaborating over the years has allowed for growth, resilience, and opportunity to elevate our practice. Our favorite place to be is in this work with children.

We deeply believe that reading and writing are complex, integrative processes. Children come with a wealth of knowledge about their world and language. We build on these strengths as we teach kids to demonstrate the relationship between sounds and written language. We help develop children’s ability to orchestrate problem solving in text.
​
We also realize that it is our responsibility to continue our own learning and engage in multiple professional development opportunities each year. It is of high importance that we use evidence based information in our own practice while staying current with what helps children most.
